Edible water bubbles
1-Why is this experience or invention useful ? What is its usefulness ?
It’s
useful because this invention can replace the water bottle so save the material
like plastic, it’s more ecologic
2-What are the materials or
products used ?
The
products used are sodium
alginate and calcium chloride but for the experience that replaces calcium
chloride with calcium lactate, resulting in a membrane that is less tough.
3- What do you have to do to
achieve the experience? Can you describe precisely the different steps to
achieve the experience or the invention?
BEFORE YOU WILL NEED :
- 1 g of sodium alginate (a natural substance
derived from brown seaweed)
- 5 g of
food-grade calcium lactate (a type of salt that can be found commonly in cheese
and gum)
- A bowl
filled with 1 cup of drinking water
- Another
bowl
FIRST STEP : You have to Add 1 g of sodium alginate
to 1 cup of water. Then use an immersion blender to dissolve the sodium
alginate. Once you're confident that it's dissolved, set the mixture aside to
get rid of any air bubbles that may have formed during blending.
SECOND STEP : You have to Add
5 g of calcium lactate to 4 cups of water and mix well using a spoon.
THIRD STEP : You have to scoop up some of your sodium
alginate solution using a deep spoon. Very carefully plop the sodium alginate
into the calcium lactate bath. Repeat with the remaining sodium alginate but do
not crowd the bath.
FOURTH STEP : You have to stir the
sodium alginate bubbles very gently for 3 minutes.
FIFTH STEP : You have to STEP 5: After 3 minutes, remove the "bottles" from the calcium lactate bath using a slotted spoon and transfer them to a water bath to stop the reaction.
FIFTH STEP : You have to STEP 5: After 3 minutes, remove the "bottles" from the calcium lactate bath using a slotted spoon and transfer them to a water bath to stop the reaction.
4- What are the various difficulties met to achieve the experiment ?
The
difficulties are the materials can be found but sometimes they are scarce
and you must be meticulous. Also you must get
a suitable bag to transport them because bubbles are delicate.
5- In which fields can we use this
experiment? ( Industry, medical field, sports field, environment, everyday
life…).
We can use
it for the environment to stop using plastic bottle and save some money on the
making of plastic bottles. So it’s sustainable.
WAW ! This video it's very interesting omg it's funny lo

This video is very good
RépondreSupprimerIt's interesting and useful because with this experiment we will stop using plastic bottles. Also the environment will be safe.
